Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to connect with Leslie Chihuly at the Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island. This was a big moment for me because I’ve been a fan of her husband, Dale Chihuly, since my undergrad days in the U.S.

Dale is a superstar in the world of glass art – his works are displayed in over 200 museums globally, and he’s often considered the Warhol of glass.

But what’s less known is that Leslie is the “secret sauce” behind Dale’s success.

As CEO of Chihuly Inc., she runs the entire operation and taught me so much about blending art with business.

Leslie and Dale are like spark and fuel: one ignites the ideas, and the other brings them to life. It’s a powerful dynamic, known as the Visionary and the Integrator. The Visionary dreams up bold concepts, and the Integrator figures out how to make them real.

The big lesson? You can’t do amazing things alone – it takes a team. Even the greatest artists need support to shine.
