Less Failure = Success
Here’s why:
I just got my 3.5-year-old laptop repaired. Was I surprised? Nope.
Why? Because I don’t trust reviews when buying high-value tech. I go straight to the source: repair technicians.
These unsung heroes see more broken equipment than a proctologist at a chilli eating contest.
They know which brands break down faster than a cheap car on a cross-country road trip.
So I ask them:
“Which models are nightmares?”
“What brands make you want to quit your job?”
“Who’s building tech that actually lasts?”
It’s called inverse thinking. Charlie Munger swears by it. Instead of chasing success, you eliminate paths to failure. It’s like building a successful business.
Don’t ask, “How do I make millions?” Ask, “What decisions would guarantee I end up living in a cardboard box, screaming at pigeons?”
Back to the laptop saga:
• Talked to repair techs
• Learned Lenovo was built like a tank
• Discovered most issues pop up around year 3
• Bought a Lenovo with 5-year premium support
Result? When issues hit after 3 years, I was completely covered.
The lesson?
Success has many paths. Failure is more predictable.
Want to make better choices? Start by eliminating the worst ones.
What area of your life could benefit from inverse thinking?
